in 1733, Savannah is a city rich in history, charm and Southern
hospitality. Savannah has one of the largest historic districts in
the United States, with thousands of architecturally-significant
buildings nestled under giant live oaks hung with Spanish moss.
Mission Opportunities:
The inner cities offer a variety of mission opportunities such as
nursing home ministries, after school programs and physical repair
to homes.
A unique mission opportunity is available at
the Seaman's Center in Savannah.
Ministry is also done in seven public housing projects; the Salvation
Army; and community centers.
Many small churches—Anglo, Hispanic, African-American—have asked
that groups assist with painting and repair
