New Orleans,
a city like none other in the US, is known for Mardi Gras and
partying. When the SBC Home Mission Board was founded in
the 1800's, they were given the task of evangelizing native
Americans and New Orleans. The task is still incomplete.
MISSION PROJECTS:
New Orleans
offers
a variety of mission opportunities. Vacation Bible Schools,
physical labor—painting,
and minor repair.
SIGHTSEEING:
The French Quarter, the French Market, swamp tours, Louis
Armstrong Park, Cafe Du Monde, and riverboat cruises are some of
the possibilities.
LODGING: In a local hotel. |

OUR RECENT TRIP TO
NEW ORLEANS:
Seeing the pictures on TV is no comparison to seeing the
devastation and hurricane damage on site. Recently we spent
several days viewing the work to be done by our teams.
The local pastors were upbeat and encouraged from the response
from all over the US. Any group—youth or adults—will get a
special blessing from helping this devastated area.
